About This Choice Board

This choice board works like a jigsaw. Everyone starts with the same centre piece, then picks one more. At the end, each person brings their piece back to the group.

How It Works

  1. Step 1Start HereEveryone does the Starting Point Walkthrough.
  2. Step 2Pick a PieceEach person or group picks one of the four pieces. Two groups can pick the same one.
  3. Step 3Set a TimeAgree on when to meet again.
  4. Step 4Come Back TogetherShare what you found, using three questions.

Use the board right here on this page, or print the PDF. Each piece works alone or in a group. Giving people a choice connects to consideration 7.1 in the CAST UDL Guidelines: Optimize choice and autonomy.

Come Back Together

When time is up, meet again. Go around the group and answer these three questions.

  2. Question 2How does it connect to the three barriers you wrote down?
  3. Question 3What will you try, and who will it help?
