Implementation and Systems Development

I work with leaders and teams in schools and other learning institutions on the systems behind inclusive learning communities. That work runs through UDL, multi-tiered systems of support, co-teaching, and inclusive policy. Alongside that, I design the structures that hold the work in place, including professional goal planning approaches and needs assessments. The maturity model I designed shows an institution where it stands now and what the next stage of change will ask of it.

What Partnership Looks Like

UDL at Every Level

Universal Design for Learning is a wide-reaching framework. Together we apply it to the curriculum design your educators are already doing, so more learners can access and engage with it. I work alongside teams on planning, materials, and assessment, and we look at where barriers are showing up and how to reduce them. We start from the goals your educators are already working towards and build in flexible ways to reach them. Over time, teams make these choices on their own, so UDL becomes part of how they plan.

Curriculum and Instruction

I work with educators at three levels of focus.

  • Up close: engaging and accessible learning experiences, from units and lessons to assessments, with barriers reduced in the design.
  • Across teams: horizontal and vertical articulation, so learning connects across subjects and builds from year to year.
  • Whole system: the processes that shape how curriculum and instruction are designed, reviewed and updated.

Professional Learning

I design and lead professional learning for educators and leaders, online, in person, or a mix of both. Sessions are built from what your teams are working on. We look at practical skills, the systems that support them, and the beliefs underneath both.

Accessible & Inclusive Technology Integration

Technology should reduce barriers, not create new ones. Together we focus on your values as a learning community, develop accessible approaches, and map your digital tools and communication practices to support learning and connection.

New UDL Workshop: Fostering Learner Agency in the Diploma Programme

The Diploma Programme is demanding by design. Those demands open the door to a crucial question: How do I learn best?

Fostering Learner Agency is a full day with your team, building shared language, approaches, and resources across every subject. You hold high standards for every learner and give just the right guidance, without choosing between the two. The goal of UDL is not UDL. The goal is designing experiences and environments that unlock the agency of every learner, across Engagement, Representation, and Action & Expression.

Your students learn to ask and answer five questions:

  • How can I design worthy goals to support my learning in the DP? Goal-setting that moves past grade-chasing toward purposeful, self-directed habits.
  • Where is my thinking right now? Feedback through SOLO Taxonomy, so every learner knows their next step.
  • How do we respond to inner and outer expectations? Support that helps learners work with their own response patterns.
  • How do I protect my deep learning time? Study schedules that guard deep work and cut the cost of distraction.
  • How can I design an effective study routine? Research-backed routines built for lasting habits.
