About 5 minutes. Meet your guide and find your way around.
I'm Beth Stark, an educator and consultant. I created the Aiming for ALL Collection, and I'll be your guide on this tour.
Aiming for ALL is a no-cost collection of accessibility resources for every member of a learning community. This guided tour shows you what is in it, why accessibility matters, and how to find your way around the collection.
This guided tour takes you through the Aiming for ALL Collection. It explains the goal of the collection and shows you how to use it.
This tour is one more way into the collection. It does not cover accessibility in full. The collection itself has six pathways, and you can start with any of them.
When you are ready to learn more about accessibility itself, Pathway 5: No-Cost Courses (opens in a new tab) lists the no-cost online accessibility courses I recommend, and course hubs where you will find many more. Its guide, Which Course Is Right for You? (opens in a new tab), helps you choose.
The goal of Aiming for ALL is to support educators, learners, learning leaders, and every member of a learning community to connect with perspectives and resources to centre accessibility in how we teach, learn, lead, and design.
Accessibility is a human right. The collection centres the voices and expertise of people with disabilities.
Accessibility is about progress, not perfection.
You do not need to know everything before you start. When you find a barrier and reduce it, that counts.
Meryl K. Evans, a CPACC-certified accessibility consultant and TEDx speaker who was born profoundly deaf, calls this approach progress over perfection. You will meet her blog post, Progress Over Perfection: The Better Way for Communication and Accessibility Advocacy (opens in a new tab), in Part 3.
In Part 4 you choose where to start.
I am a non-disabled educator. The collection centres resources designed by people with disabilities and disability-led organisations. You can read more in About This Collection (opens in a new tab).
